When out on a date, nerves are often on edge and you may even find yourself at a loss for words. Knowing a few choice phrases from the romance languages including French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian just might save the day. You could always try to break the ice with an interesting phrase from another language. You could go with anything from telling them how great they look to asking for a dance. Check out some of these common dating phrases that you can pull out of your proverbial hat at your next romantic rendezvous.

It is so nice to see you.
French: C'est si agréable pour vous voir.
Spanish: Es tan agradable verle.
Portuguese: É tão amável vê-lo.
Italian: È cosí piacevole per vederla.

You look great tonight.
French: Vous paraissez grand ce soir.
Spanish: Usted parece gran esta noche.
Portuguese: Parece grande esta noite.
Italian: Lei guarda grande stasera.

I am having so much fun!
French: J'ai le si beaucoup d'amusement !
Spanish: Tengo tanta diversión!
Portuguese: Tenho tanto divertimento!
Italian: Ho cosí molto divertimento!

Would you like a drink?
French: Aimeriez-vous une boisson?
Spanish: Querría usted una bebida?
Portuguese: Gostaria de uma bebida?
Italian: Lei amerebbe una bevanda?

You are so funny!
French: Vous êtes si drôle!
Spanish: Usted es tan chistoso!
Portuguese: São tão engraçado!
Italian: Lei è cosí buffo!

What did you study in school?
French: Qu'avez-vous étudié à l'école ?
Spanish: Qué estudió usted en la escuela?
Portuguese: O que você estudou em escola?
Italian: Che ha studiato lei nella scuola?

Would you like to dance?
French: Aimeriez-vous danser ?
Spanish: Querría usted bailar?
Portuguese: Gostaria de dançar?
Italian: Lei amerebbe ballare?

Tell me more about your job.
French: Me dire plus de votre travail.
Spanish: Dígame más acerca de su trabajo.
Portuguese: Conte-me mais sobre seu trabalho.
Italian: Dirme più del suo lavoro.

Can I drive you home?
French: Peux-je vous conduire à la maison?
Spanish: Le puedo manejar yo en casa?
Portuguese: Posso guiá-lo lar?
Italian: Posso guidarla la casa?

French: Nous devons faire ceci encore bientôt !
Spanish: Debemos hacer este otra vez pronto!
