You might assume that the guy you’re dating knows exactly how you feel about him. Believe it or not, you might be totally wrong. It’s one thing to tell him he’s the best and it’s another to go ahead and show it. Regardless of how long the two of you have been dating, everyone likes to feel appreciated. Here are nine fresh and creative ideas on how to make that important guy in your life feel extra special!

1) Pay close attention to his favorite beer the next time the two of you are out at a bar. Make a mental note and then stock your fridge with that very same brand. You could even pick up his favorite chips and salsa too.

2) Buy him a sexy pair of boxers – a size bigger than he actually is. That should successfully give his manly ego a nice little boost.

3) Do some research and find out what his favorite childhood meal was. Whether its meatloaf with extra ketchup or super crispy fried chicken, look online and you’ll find the recipe. Surprise him by cooking up a home comfort meal at your place. They do say that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!

4) When he vents on and on about his rough day at work, just be supportive and listen quietly. Try not to offer any advice or solutions unless he explicitly asks you for it. Sometimes just lending an ear or shoulder is all a guy really needs.

5) Wax poetic about him the next time you find yourself around his family. Let his mom know that you think she did a great job in raising such a fine young man. She’ll definitely appreciate it and so will he.

6) Open up to him with information that no one (not even your best friend) knows about you. Talk to him about your secret wants and desires. He’ll find himself feeling connected to you on a whole different level.

7) Trust him implicitly. Offer up a clean slate early on and let him know about it. Avoid the need to make him prove his trustworthiness to you. Give him a fair chance to actually show you that he’s honest. This may sound hard to do, but if you don’t allow the jealous thoughts to enter your mind in the first place, they won’t have anywhere to go. As any happy couple will tell you, trust is one of the most important building blocks of any healthy relationship.

8) Whenever you mention your ex, (hopefully not that often) be sure not to gush. Be very matter of fact and carefully conscious of your guy’s feelings. No man wants to hear his girlfriend go on at length about how great her ex was. Be sure to throw in a compliment for your cutie about how happy you are to be with him and not your ex-boyfriend.

9) Next time you stay over at his place, take a minute to hide a little love note. Just as your heading out the door, slip a quick note on his pillow for him to find later that night. He’ll know that even when you’re not there at his place, your thoughts are still with him.
