Types of Men to Avoid

These are the guys that your mother warned you against. Sometimes you don’t even realize who these men are until you have already made the regretful mistake of dating one. And sometimes we just can’t seem to learn a lesson until we have actually made the mistake ourselves. I have dated them all, trust me. By learning from my mistakes maybe you will be able to identify some of the characteristics below and figure out if this is one of men you should avoid before you get too involved.

1) The Superstar. Absolutely and without a doubt one of the most dangerous men around, the superstar preys upon women solely to get the attention and immediate sexual gratification that he desires. There are many men that can fall into the superstar category. Such men are the rich and powerful businessmen, bankers, lawyers, doctors, actors and of course, band members. Just because a guy is a wealthy banker dos not mean that he has the Superstar persona, there is just a chance that he may be. These men love attention. Their sole driving force in life is to gain popularity, money and power. Along the way they like to use women for whatever they can get from them. All men in this league know and understand that with this fame and fortune comes sex, although it is not spoken about much. It is obvious. They believe that all women were put on this earth to give them sexual gratification. The more attention you give a Superstar, the more he may have you around, but trust me, you are being used. He cares for little else except himself. And don’t even think about a long term relationship with one. There will always be other women.

2) The Mama’s Boy. This one can’t do a thing with his mother’s stamp of approval. Most young men leave the nest as soon as they are able to get away. We all love our parents but there is an inexplicable need to have your own life at one point. If your guy didn’t move out until he was 30, he is probably a Mama’s boy. This guy will talk to his mother ten times a day, ask her for advice on everything and he may even tell her things about you. Ewww. A healthy relationship is not very possible because he will compare you to his mother at every chance, he will use her against you in arguments and he may even decide to “tell on you”.

3) The Obsessive Co-Dependant. You should be able to understand these subtle red flags as soon as you start dating one of these. The O.C.D. will have an immediate and strong physical attraction for you right away. He will want to pet and touch you all of the time and he will want physical contact. That doesn’t sound so bad, does it? It gets worse, believe me. The O.C.D. will want to be with you all of the time. Eventually, his obsession will start to blur his thinking. He will constantly be worried about you not being faithful and he will become very anxious. He will start to demand more and more of your time. When you can not spend time with you he will begin to get agitated and he will accuse you of cheating and other non-validated problems. This will push you away, naturally, and his behavior will worsen. Eventually his behavior will escalate to drive by’s to see if you are actually where you said you would be, calling thirty times in a row if you don’t answer and leaving nasty messages for you. This cycle won’t end until you step out of the circle.

4) The Bum. This guy has a love for his couch, has never held a steady job and leaches from his friends and family. He will try and hide the fact that he is a bum from you as long as he can but eventually you will find out. He will hardly ever take you to a nice place to eat and will rarely buy you a drink at a bar. Pretty soon you will be accustomed to paying for his way and it will finally start to sink in that this guy is a bum. If his response to, “Did you look for a job today?” is, “I don’t want to have to work for someone and get paid in peanuts”, then this guy is a bum. His get rich quick schemes will never pay off and he will be content to live off of you for as long as you will allow it. A huge clue that he is a bum is video games. Most grown men (except for computer techies) will not tell you what a great gamer he is. If he games, it is probably because he sits at home all day and has no job.
