Every time you read a tabloid article, it seems like another celebrity couple is breaking up. We all watched as Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey spent their first year as husband and wife on the reality show, “The Newlyweds.” We also watched as they battled it out through their painful divorce proceedings. Paul McCartney and Heather Mills are still in the midst of an ugly divorce battle that seems to be getting nastier by the minute. Rumor mills are calling the former model a gold digger, saying that she was only after Paul’s money. Just when you think it’s all bad news, we’re reminded that there are still plenty of strong, healthy marriages to be found in Hollywood. Read on to find out all the secrets of two celebrity couples who are actually making it work.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher – Demi and Ashton first began dating in 2003 and the tabloids all poked fun at the couple. People wondered if the relationship might simply be part of his TV show “Punkd,” where he played practical jokes on other celebrities. Most people admittedly were shocked at the unusual pairing because of the age difference involved. With Demi being nearly 15 years his senior, Ashton had a lot of learning to do in the love department. He was so close in age to her three daughters, Rumor, Scout, and Tallulah, that they practically considered him to be one of their pals. As the years passed and these two only grew stronger as a couple, people began to believe it might actually be love. In 2005, Demi and Ashton were married in a small ceremony in front of friends and family. She even got the seal of approval from her ex-husband, actor Bruce Willis. Demi and Ashton both say that they have learned more about healthy relationships from each other than from anyone else. I guess when it comes to true love; age really doesn’t make that much of a difference after all.
Julia Roberts and Danny Moder – Julia and Danny met in 2000 while she was working on the film “The Mexican” with Brad Pitt. She had the leading role and he was the resident cameraman on the project. Unfortunately, the movie flopped at the theaters, but a romance did blossom for the couple. He was still married at the time, but they chose to pursue the relationship since Danny claimed that his marriage was over anyway. Julia has had a long history of celebrity hookups including Matthew Perry, Benjamin Bratt, and Daniel Day Lewis. She was engaged to Keifer Sutherland and Dylan McDermott and was even married to singer Lyle Lovett for a couple of years. Julia seems to have found true love with Danny Moder as they married in July 2002 under a sky filled with fireworks. Julia gave birth to twins in November 2004 and she has become quite the happy homemaker in Taos, New Mexico. She has described her relationship with Danny as being “profound and positive” and it certainly seems to agree with her.
