Wacky Celebrity Relationships – Summer 2006
The summer of 2006 brought with it a whole new batch of celebrity hookups and breakups. We had Jim Carrey dating Jenny McCarthy and Dave Navarro ditching Carmen Electra to date porn star Jenna Jameson. But it was the hot and cold tumultuous relationships that really kept us on our toes. Read on to find out which celebrities had us all guessing if they were together or not this summer.
Kate Moss and Pete Doherty – Kate and Pete were hot and heavy for a long time until a drug scandal in 2005 tore them apart. British tabloids snapped photos of Kate doing drugs in Pete’s recording studio and soon after she entered a rehab program. Friends urged her to leave Pete claiming that he was a bad influence on the super skinny model. She called off the engagement and was making a fresh start when rumor mills in the summer of 2006 began to claim that they were back together. Just one week after Kate was spotted out wearing a diamond sparkler on her left hand, Pete was arrested for possession of drugs. Kate still won’t confirm or deny the reports that she plans to marry this troubled rocker. Either way, it sounds like Kate would be wise to drop this guy and never look back.
Pam Anderson and Kid Rock/Tommy Lee – Pam Anderson just couldn’t make up her mind when it came to these two. She continued to date her ex-husband Tommy Lee even though she was rumored to be engaged to Kid Rock. She claimed that she and Tommy would always have a ‘special bond’ since they do share custody of their two young boys. Pam temporarily called it quits with Tommy and Kid and decided to pass the time in the company of Stephen Dorff this summer. Suddenly, out of the blue, the Baywatch babe posted an announcement on her web site that she and Kid Rock were planning to get married on a yacht at the end of August 2006. "I've raised my kids alone in hope of a miracle," she wrote. "Well my miracle came and went. And came back and came back because he knew that I'd wake up one day and realize that I was waiting for nothing. I'm moving on. I'm in love. I'm happy." I wonder how her ex-hubby Tommy feels about all of this.
Jude Law and Sienna Miller – Jude and Sienna are the ubiquitous on again and off again couple in Hollywood. From one day to the next, you can never guess the status of this relationship. Jude was busted in 2005 for cheating on Sienna when he slept with his children’s nanny, Daisy Wright. Sienna was said to be humiliated by the whole public affair. She flipped her lid and dumped Jude, even returning the engagement ring that he gave her. Soon after, they reconciled, but that only lead to another breakup. After spending most of 2006 splitting up and getting back together, it’s tough to say exactly where these two stand. As of August 2006, the latest scoop is that it’s splitsville for this gorgeous couple. If history repeats itself, stay tuned for the next reconciliation because it should be happening any day now.
